Supporting us and acknowledgements
“What a superb festival! Chamber music as chamber music should be! Recession or not, we are delighted to support such a venture and to encourage it to grow” Frank and Freida Stack (founder Patrons and continuing Associates)
We’re delighted that since its inception in 2008, the Festival has established itself so firmly and successfully on the local cultural map, drawing audiences from the city, its surrounding communities and from further afield. However, we all need Friends and the Festival is no exception, particularly in these challenging financial times! This special event happens with the loyal support of a growing band of individuals whose financial contribution plays such an important part in helping the Festival to thrive.
Please join this valuable band of enthusiasts by becoming a Festival Patron, Associate or Friend. You will receive exclusive benefits and the satisfaction of playing a crucial role in helping the Festival go from strength to strength. 2012 Friends form (PDF format)
We are also always looking for people who can support us with distributing our publicity, especially in the communities around Winchester and elsewhere in Hampshire. If you’d like to help us in this way, please contact us.

Public sector and corporate support
A big thank you to Hampshire County Council for its financial support. The Festival is delighted to announce that it has forged partnerships with Winchester’s business community and is particularly grateful to Winchester BID for providing sponsorship and also links to its members. Joining our established Corporate Friends, Brasserie Blanc and Loch Fyne, are newcomers Arup, Gervades Dry Cleaning and Rawlings Opticians. Thank you….
A huge thank you also to our volunteers – Audrey Atter, Gill Collymore, Iris Gould, John and Susan Gould, Christine Hardwick, Clare Harvey, Kate Morgan, Jane Poulter and Louise Woods, without whom the Festival simply could not happen.
We are immensely grateful to our Founder Patrons, Audrey Atter, Lewis and Angela Atter, Michael Bell, Jane Poulter and Freida and Frank Stack, who were instrumental in inaugurating the Festival. Personal support continues to be crucial to the Festival and 2012 sees the number of Friends increase to record levels. Their members include Patrons Ann and Frank Jonas, David Lloyd and Rosemary Dunhill, Carol Orchard, Jane Poulter, Caroline and Richard York, and one other who prefers to remain anonymous. A special thanks is also due to the Yorks for voluntarily coordinating our Friends scheme and for being our Honorary Managers.
We are indebted to Michael Gwinnell, Trustee of The Leopold Trust, under whose auspices we are able to make your donations to our Friends scheme go further through GiftAid, and also to apply to charitable foundations for further support.
We greatly appreciate our links with Hampshire Music Service. We are also indebted to The Pilgrims’ School for offering us rehearsal space in the run-up to the Festival and to the Headmaster and Master of Music, Winchester College for hosting our 2011 Autumn Concert at the Music School. We are delighted to be working with St Bede C of E School once again and to welcome Olivers Batter for the first time; both are helping their pupils discover the joys of chamber music and of performing. Thanks also to Carol Orchard, Brian Oswald, Richenda Power and Peggy Souter for help with print distribution and to Jill Mintz, page turner.
We are grateful to the Discovery Centre, our main venue, and also to both St Lawrence and St Paul’s churches for providing such wonderful settings for some of our events. A big thank you to Chris Bruty, of Habanero Design, who creates our print and Sarah Bucknall, who continues to help shape this website. Art and Mind, Winchester Chamber Orchestra and Turner Sims Southampton all also greatly support our marketing efforts. Several other people and organisations have contributed hugely to the Festival – a big thank you to all of you and last but not least, to our enthusiastic audiences.
